I'm wondering if the $$ for the upgrade will be worth it just to get rid
of this blasted password prompt

Oh...sorry. I just realized that you asked specifically for Office 2003.
That version is no longer accepting BETA testers. But you can order a
PREVIEW copy and subsequently submit bugs if you find them.
