[mso] Re: Get Office programs to stretch across a widescreen

On my 1280x1024 screen, a "normal" view of one of my A4 documents needs to
be zoomed to 219% to get the ruler right across the screen. In "print
layout" view, a full-width page zoom is 148%.

100% in "normal" does indeed only take up the left-hand half of the screen.
100% in "print layout" view leaves a wide grey area each side of the page.

Don't know what her resolution is, but it presumably isn't less than 1280
wide.

If I switch to "web layout" view, a 100% zoom will fill the whole width, and
the ruler will run up to more than 30 cm.

"Outline" view at 100% only uses the left side of the screen.

"Reading" view doesn't present a zoom amount - just puts two pages onto the
screen.

2003 does indeed have the "page width" zoom control.

============================================

The month calendars in Outlook appear to take up a fixed vertical space in
the pane. A bit more than half the height in my 1280x1024 screen. As you
change the height of the Outlook window, it will give you fewer or more
months. In full-screen 1280x1024, I get four months.

The pane can be expanded in width, and you'll get an extra column of months
once the pane is wide enough. Until that time, the existing column(s) will
be centred in this pane. I haven't found where you could change the actual
size of the little month calendars.

Regards, Dave S
