Jeff:

I'm Word 2000, Windows XP.

You might see if the ViewFootnoteSeparator command is still available.

Tools > Macro > Macros.
From the Macros In list, select Word Commands.
Select ViewFootnoteSeparator.
Click Run.

Might work if it's still there.

Hey David,

Is that for Word 2007? I've done similar with the old versions of word,
but cant find the view footnotes in 2007 that actually allows you to
change things.

Sorry that wasn't made clear, i only said the version in my original
post way back.

Any other suggestions?=3D20

Thanks

Jeff

Jeff:

I've never worked with footnotes before, and was puzzled as to HOW I
could selct the separator and dink with it.

Just in case anybody is missing this part, you switch to Normal view and
then click View Footnotes. In the Footnotes pane, there's a list that
lets you select, among other things, the Footnote Separator. With that
selected, you can then access the paragraph containing the footnote
separator and work with it like any other paragraph.

I guess you could manually format the separator (set in Normal in my
system) or create a custom Footnote Separator style.
