Thanks David, for the suggestion. I discovered today how to save the
Publisher file as a TIFF---it wouldn't work at 300 or 150 dpi resolutions,
but did allow me to save at 96. I then incrementally upscaled in Photoshop,
but only to about 120. Then I learned, at $10/square foot, how expensive
printing a 4'x6' color poster would cost, so I reduced the size to 3.5'x5'
and that brought up the resolution a notch, as well!
It's still a mystery why Publisher wouldn't allow me to save as a TIFF using
300, or even 150, dpi. Could it cap its maximum file size somewhere around
200MB, maybe? I never use Publisher but was surprised how easy it was to
use.
