Mmm,
Select the columns 1-10 then left-click in the bottom right corner, your
cursor changes to a cross (perhaps you even get the 'auto-fill' icon).
Anyway, hold the mouse button pressed and drag it to fill the cells beneath
it....
Disadvantage is you have to drag it over a 1000 cells...
Other way is to select the 2nd cell, and insert a formule: A2=A1+1
Then copy this sell over the 1000 cells beneath it to increment each sell by
1.
Advantage is you can easily insert new rows later
