Ok...sorry...I found it

In Outlook XP...go to the Tools menu in your Inbox and click on Email
Accounts
Put a tick in the radio button at the bottom that says View or Change
Existing directories or Address Books
Click Next
Select your Address Book in the box and click on the Change button....at
the bottom of this box, you will see the choices

I installed that trial program, but thought it was a bit more complex
than I needed. The export/import method worked just fine.

This second issue is to change how Contacts are displayed from within a
new message.  In Office 2000, the fix is:

>From within Outlook..
Click Tools..  Services..  (the Services window appears)
On the Services Tab, select Outlook Address Book..
Click Properties.. (the Address Book properties window appears)..
At the bottom, find Show Names By..  Change it to Last, First..


There must be a similar setting in Office XP as well.  I've not found
it, tho'.
