Thanks Linda. I'll give that a shot when he's back in the office. -----Original Message----- From: Linda F. When you see weird things like this, the first thing to always try is detect and repair. That can't hurt anything if it doesn't work, and a lot of times, it DOES work. I've been looking thru the MS newsgroups and I see this question there a couple times, but with no real answer...except that possibly the spreadsheet is corrupt. Is it happening in ALL spreadsheets or just one? If it's in all spreadsheets, definitely try detect and repair. If it's only in one spreadsheet, try highlighting all of the data and copy it, then open a new blank workbook and use Paste Special to paste "values"...this will remove all formatting in the cells and just paste the values (unfortunately, it will remove formulas too, but it's the only way to see if there's some weird formatting problem in the original workbook)....then try changing the background color on the new workbook...if it works there, then I would suspect either corruption or some conditional format, like David suggested. Sorry, missed that one. No, I did not, he was offline and office was installed through an administrative share on the network so I didn't think it would work since the media was on the network. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
