Al, Yes, it's kind of a security fastener, but also a low-profile fastener. There is a name for it, I just can't recall it at the moment. Also, spanner (UK) = wrench (USA). Originally I think both terms referred to tools with a fixed opening (like a crows foot or box end wrench) but so far as I know, there as here, the term covers any spanner/wrench, and it doesn't specifically describe what I'm talking about.
