Cliff,

1. They are breakers not fuses
2. The computer systems are quintipulated (is that a word?) there are 5 
identical systems, only 3 of which need to work.

In my area (railway signalling) if it goes wrong we either put the 
signals back to red and/or apply the train brakes

Not an option at 750mph at 37,000 feet!
