There are some very interesting items there.
I could be tempted by quite a few, so it is probably a good thing that I
have other commitments this weekend!

The models look good, especially the ploughing engine.

I don't like this trend of calling them "miniatures". A 6" scale model that
weighs perhaps 2 tons and is 10 ft long can hardly be called "miniature"!!

Subject: [modeleng] Auction

Hi All,

I don't know if anyone is interested in the forthcoming auction
taking place this weekend at Dingles Steam Village (on the
Devon/Cornwall border). There are a couple of full-sized traction
engines going under the hammer, as well as several model (or as I am
told we now have to refer to them as 'miniature') traction engines (I
know that at least one is planning to be in steam). There is a lot of
general old 'stuff', but could be quite an interesting day.

To see a catalogue go to:
http://www.kivells.com/agriculture/sales.asp and scroll down to
"Auction 2".

I may well be there, but I suspect that the prices that these
things bring will dictate that my cheque book will stay very firmly in
my pocket.

       Cheers,

          Roger Mason, in St. Agnes.
