One thing that makes me feel a tiny bit better is that one of the people at
least based on an initial estimate is going to be in the group of folks who
will probably end up with a higher level of gross pay relative to his base pay
for at least June and July because of the $600/week CARES act funding.
Obviously that doesn’t make up for loss of all of the other benefits, but on
that front NU is going to pay 100% of medical and life insurance premiums for
the furloughed employees too. So not as sucky as it could be if I’m looking
for silver linings.
