Uh, I'd need to check. It obviously also depends on the read length, but for 
100bp in 3.4.x I think it's a good estimate, in 3.9 I reduced this (not by 
much, but still).

It is always per read, not per pair, triplet or whatever the sequencing 
industry may still invent :-)
