HiI'm not sure this is the only enhancement I'd like to see in VO, but I agree 100% with you on this one. I loved that ability in Outspoken. You could name a hotspot and give it a key combination, though VO's implementation of hotspots would need some work before you could use it the way you could use it in Outspoken. For instance, at the moment the hotspot saves the item at the voiceover cursor location. If you can't get to the control with VO, or VO can't see it for any other reason, this wouldn't help at all right now. The answer to that is pretty simple: implement mouse hotspots. Another feature I'd like to see in VO is the ability to redefine all key commands, VO key and otherwise. I don't personally need to redefine them, but the current VO keys do not work with any non-latin keyboard layouts and this is a problem for many. I'd also like to see hotkeys to switch to voices in a predefined list--i.e. you define preset voices and switch to them with a key. This would be very useful for situations where you need to switch back and fourth between languages. Finally, I'd like to see Apple lift the limits on speech rates in both the Voiceover utility and in System prefs. There's no need to attempt to limit us to the slower rates when the voices can clearly go much faster.
