Yes. And I highly suggest getting a midi keyboard if you don't already have one. I use the M audio oxygen 49 key. Ash; I think this is in one of the guides, but here's how I do it. GB has a function/mode called musical typing which provides a keyboard interface to make sound with gb. press command-shift-k to invoke this. Press command-` to move to the main window. Press command-i to bring up the track info window. find the arrow button and activate it. Find grand piano popup and activate it and you can scroll through the main instraments. each instrament has a subset which begins with default in a popup and you can select from those as well. There is a lot of other stuff you can do here too and if I missed a step or you don't understand something or I didn't understand something, let me know. I was just asking because I was not sure if you meant your own personalSF files. or the playable instruments found in garageband Ricardo From: ashley cox Sent: Wednesday, July 29, 2009 11:15 AM To: macvoiceover@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [macvoiceover] Re: New user on this list. Garage band can load the sound font files (sample files) into memory and they can be played with a midi keyboard. Sorry if I'm just being confusing, maybe I should shutup now. Garage band seams a brilliant but complicated piece of software. However, i've only just found tutorials (thanks david) Had any luck getting voiceover to read the controls when loading soundfonts? I've just been playing with audacity for mac, which seams like a easy recording software. Funny really, I can't stand using audacity with jaws but voiceover makes it quite enjoyable.
