I am not a strong iPad user myself, but I have friends and family who use

When the day is done, though, folks, it comes down to the individual. I am
a computer old school dog who still prefers his desktop and laptop Macs. I
really only use my iPad for occasional reading and testing or when I have to
teach someone on it.
As a side note, as George pointed out in a previous email, please try to
stay on topic. If you want to ask a question about the iPhone or such, just

surely welcomed and encouraged. We have great people on this list who are

I've just realised, how stupid of me <smile>, on the iPad - if there isn't
a keyboard shortcut - then their's a touch gesture, how silly of me <smile>.
Obviously Keyboard shortcuts are more convenient if you're using the
keyboard but with the new Magic keyboard with the touch screen mounted
directly in front of you? Access is a piece of cake.

Again we're going to have to agree to disagree.
I have been the user of an iPad with a keyboard for quite some time.
Those wwho use a keyboard with an iPad will find themselves very well
catered for with shurctus available for just about every function you can
think of including defining your own shortcuts with the new IOS, VoiceOver
users are - in my opinion - perhaps better cated for with IOS than they are
with the Mac OS though I'm still learning loads about both operating
systems.

I can agree though that things are sometimes easyer on IPad, but it depend
I guess. Garageband still don't have all the shortcuts that the mac version
have, maybe allot, but not all.
Yes, these new ipad pros are very powerfull, I don't think anyone can doubt
that, but the problem rite now is software. And I don't see enough werth
for voiceover users in particular that could make it so great that you
would switch your laptop for it.
Why don't mac books have any touch screen?
Well, first off there is the trackpad, and second mac is not designed with
touch screen as primary input, and ipad is not design with keyboard as main
input either.
That is why they should complement each other.

just my experience pertaining to dual screen support with an iPad. I’m
using an iPad 9.7 2018 model 6th gen.
I purchased Luna display because of the dual screen support, but sadly
this is not compatible with voiceover. (Company indicates future
updates will focus on adding accessibility support, but no timeframe has
been provided).
I have also used Apple’s Sidecar feature, but the compatibility seems
to be lacking there also. (Perhaps others can share their dual screen
support experiences if successful).
P.S. I think iPads are a great addition to one’s productivity.
Personally, I find that using Pages and Keynote are much more
intuitive on this device than the iMac or Macbook. Further, when I get
an iPad 12.9 I will greatly enjoy the screen size for easier manipulation
of Shortcuts actions.
Cheers. :)************
