did you notice that the apple is not red is NOT equivalent to 
it is not the case that the apple is red>

It is entirely unclear to me how this alleged lack of equivalence bears on 
"A. Here there is snow.
B. Here there is no snow"
or how it means this A and B do not contradict. Which was the claim at issue.

I maintain that B is the negation of A because B is equivalent to "It is not 
the case that 'Here there is snow'".

Simples.
