Lawrence: I don’t see how you can call adherence to the WTO a “Republican” enterprise. We joined the WTO in 1995 during a Democratic administration.

Eric: Money is clearly bipartisan. But globalization operates in many ways, not merely the purely business-model or work-group fashion that Andreas outlined. Consider:

Environmental Globalism, e.g., the spread of species into ecosystems that are unprepared for them. Puerto Rican frogs in Hawaii, Brazilian killer bees in Florida, Bird Flu, usw.

Informational Globalism, e.g., Bombhead Mohammed riots, the attempts of states to suppress Internet information such as Yahoo! playing cozy with the Chinese and giving up a dissident to their gestapo.

Military Globalism, e.g., Dustbin Laden directs 9/11 attacks from Afghanistan; US drives Taliban from Kabul.
