I knew from the get go he would be a disaster. I just had no idea the size of the disaster. Obama won't do the "African-American" thing. Stupid people will. I'm just afraid that no one, including Obama, can reverse what's been done. The treasury is looted, as in it's gone, with a mile high debt in its place. And when he can't do the impossible, people will blame him. That's why I thought it poetic justice that McCain win. But, let's hope. Here's an idea of some of what Obama is up against: http://www.nakedcapitalism.com/2008/11/fed-hires-bear-stearns-risk-chiefto.html ; --- On Wed, 11/5/08, Paul Stone <pastone@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Paul Stone <pastone@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [lit-ideas] Re: President Obama To: lit-ideas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2008, 7:33 PM On Wed, Nov 5, 2008 at 1:22 PM, Julie Krueger <juliereneb@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Julie responded with: "wonderful" for "interesting" and "8" for "4". to my: " It should be an interesting 4 years." I'm optimistic, but then, believe it or not, I was optimistic when Bush won in 2008 (while your Country was going pretty well at the time, I'd had just about enough of Bill Clinton's bullshit, and Al Gore was not a viable alternative -- possibly anyone else (anyone with a identifiable personality) may have beaten Bush -- but it was obvious that the swing, even just to the middle was NOT what (the collective) you wanted)... it took Bush, probably the biggest disappointment since... forever... a catastrophe, to elect ANY Democrat! Fortunately, Obama doesn't seem too full of shit and genuinely wants to facilitate change. I'll be interested to see how that is received when all is said and done. I just hope they don't spend 4 years on "the first African-American President" thing. It's so yesterday! Even Obama stopped short of suggesting a second term. Let's just see how it goes. p ------------------------------------------------------------------ To change your Lit-Ideas settings (subscribe/unsub, vacation on/off, digest on/off), visit www.andreas.com/faq-lit-ideas.html
