[lit-ideas] Re: Member Issues

Learned friends, I keep hearing the word "faculty" used to refer to individual
members of a faculty thus, "Ritchie, you wise and learned faculty, you, what
are your thoughts?" Is there possibly a feminist wrinkle here? Have I blinked
and so missed an argument about taking "member" out? Or is the case just like
"media" being used as a single noun, an error that seems to be winning?
