Yeah, thanks for the help. I had to use a boot disk. LILO didn't like to
fact that I was trying to write the DOS part of the lilo.conf to the DOS
disk's MBR when I was running LILO from my LINUX 'master' drive. So I
made DOS disk my master and LINUX my slave. I feel cheap and dirty. I
used a boot disk (booted from Slack 7.1 cd) and then mounted my (now
/dev/hdb) linux drive as root=/dev/hdb2. I ran lilo with the
mount=/dev/hda and it installed the MBR on the DOS /dev/hda and didn't
give me FATAL: error now that it really was the first disk. :) Gracias
