Try man lilo. You will be enlightened. Yeah, thanks for the help. I had to use a boot disk. LILO didn't like to fact that I was trying to write the DOS part of the lilo.conf to the DOS disk's MBR when I was running LILO from my LINUX 'master' drive. So I made DOS disk my master and LINUX my slave. I feel cheap and dirty. I used a boot disk (booted from Slack 7.1 cd) and then mounted my (now /dev/hdb) linux drive as root=/dev/hdb2. I ran lilo with the mount=/dev/hda and it installed the MBR on the DOS /dev/hda and didn't give me FATAL: error now that it really was the first disk. :) Gracias mi amigos. -- James Gosnell __________________________________ Goodwill Industries of Michiana IT jgosnell@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 219-234-1661 x678 ============================================================= Avenir Web's Linux Discussion List List info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/webpage?webpage_id=13 To unsubscribe: email linux-discussion-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject line.
