Ok, I remember you mentioned that now- I thought a script would be a fun exercise but it's no bother to do it manually- only 16 in this case ;)

Ray, I need to import LEVs and export as TGs on a 4 x 4 tile set (@5K each). I figured a script might be useful. Any chance you could outline a script for me? :)

Well, Lev scripts don't extend to any file I/O, so you'd have to roll a plug-in or use the Python bindings for GDAL (since both the Leveller and Terragen drivers are now from GDAL). Even just setting up a batch file and calling GDAL's warp utility should do it. I don't know if the current official GDAL includes the latest Lev/TG drivers though from their site, but if not, I have the sources here if you don't want to grab them from the gdal 1.5 branch.

Thanks,
 Carl
btw, I got a crash on trying to load a 10K LEV (output from Global Mapper). do you want any more details or should we file it under 32 bit, blah blah. There was only a Microsoft dialog anyway, that's about it.

If you mean it's 10000 x 10000 pixels, and you have enough RAM, you may need to enable the 3-gig switch (/largeaddressaware or something like that) for the leveller.exe file.
