To me "fly by wire" would mean like an A320, which actually feels pretty good.

Do you mean it's granular or lags the commands?
Separate question, how much noise does it make, less than
when in AF?
Still separate question somewhat off thread, how many people
think of 35mm as "normal" and are waiting for a 17.5mm F2?
