Looks to me there’s a chip out of the antler just below the blue portion.
If so, it could lead to a fungus discoloration much like we get in our
nails. Not expertise, just conjecture.

At the base of his left (our right) antler, it has a distinct blue colour.
Upon checking, I see it is in the original raw file, but I have never seen
a blue-ish antler. So, my question is...
a) is it a weird artifact in the sensor?
or
b) can Elk actually have a blue-ish section to their antler?
or
c) ?????
Any and all pearls of wisdom appreciated, as I am stumped!
