"How do you send film to Dwayne's without it being X-rayed these
days?"

Hello Friends,
it's not possible to speak 'scientifically' about this - I'm neither a
Postal
Inspector nor a Homeland Security Official, but drawing upon various stories &
'scandals' percolating in the 'News' lately and applying a bit o' Lateral
Thinking I'd say there is little chance of any specific piece of mail getting a
'Proper Screening' let alone enough X-rays to muck up the 'slow' Kodachrome
Emulsions. A terrific way to 'go around' Postal Screening is shipping it via a
Fed-Ex/UPS type Carrier. There is existing law mandating extensive screening of
air freight, but DHS appears to be saying they 'might' be in compliance in a
few
years and 'dancing' around that the start date 'in law' has already passed. The
Carriers are screaming bankruptcy if they don't 'break the law'.

Anyway - I suspect fears about X-Ray machines and Irradiation Sterilizations of
Mail would be feasible only if you were Mailing to or from the U.S. Capital.
Caveats to my NOT being 'in the know' nor an 'expert'. :-)

R in Mi.
