Paid Eur 150 for my Elmarit II and Eur 190 for my Summicron II (both 3-cam and in perfect shape). Though if you have both a 28 and a 50mm, do you even need a 35mm? (I go for the 35mm and leave out the other two). My advice: Save for the later Elmarit or Summicron... You'll ultimately have no regrets. Chris Chris, no more big bucks on non-digital Leica. My R3, SL, elmarit 28, summicron 50&90 do the trick for me. I`m saving for R10d and some AF vario-elmars ;-) But I can get an elmarit-R 35mm 2-cam for 120 eur. Maybe Ted can give some insight info? These are the only samples of the lens i found on the net. Hard to judge. http://rlfc.world.coocan.jp/Galleryfiles/R_Sample/Elmarit35I/Elmarit351.html Here is the rest of the R stable: http://rlfc.world.coocan.jp/Galleryfiles/R_Sample/rlensgallerymenu.html Can someone show me (or point me to) some photos (on the net) made with the elmarit in question? Thanks, Miha 2008/12/16 Douglas Sharp <douglas.sharp@xxxxxx> Sorry, Miha, none today - seems like it never got bright at all - I won't forget though, I'm interested to see the difference too. And, just for fun, I'll run a few shots off a Rollei 2.8/35 mm as a comparison at the same time. Cheers Douglas Miha Golobic wrote: Thank you guys for contributing! Xavier and Chris, yes I know about the summicron-R. Great lens but three times the price of the elmarit-R. BTW, I have an Oly XA with 2.8/35mm lens and real rangefinder. Also found recently at the bottom of my photo bag ;-) Douglas from Hannover, I`m not confusing you with Doug - The Birdman of Sacramento. Since I`ve joined of this forum, only a dozen or so members are active, so It`s easy to follow :-( And I`m looking forward to seeing some test shots of yours.
