Look at this link and scroll down to the photo of the tangled seed pods.  Do you have a better photo?

Fireweed, Epilobium angustifolium, Chamerion angustifolium (friendsofthewildflowergarden.org) <https://www.friendsofthewildflowergarden.org/pages/plants/fireweed.html>

Here is a google search of fireweed seed pods.  Poke around.  The more I look the more convinced I am.

It's not fireweed, Aram.  Of that I'm sure.

Fireweed is the official flower of the Yukon, and I spent a couple of years
there, in my youth.

We do get fireweed around here, though not that much of it.

Any other ideas?

David.

Looks like it might be Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), a very lovely
flower despite its name.  I am sure you have seen its brilliant red
flowers many times.  So, call it what you want.

Friday Flower? Or Wednesday weed?

Not sure just what it is (or, at least, was), but found it on a walk
around nearby Ware Lake.
