To back up what Andy said - the Korg Sound Editor can only be used with the (correct) PC I/F cable - I have heard stories of it being being used over plain old MIDI and USB MIDI interfaces but I think the general consensus is that it will only work using the PC I/F. This (I imagine) is more to do with the speed the data is transmitted (very slowly?) then anything else.
