I don't know if anyone here has seen this wonderful new way of packaging a
double CD, but I just saw it on of all things, the new Recording of Les
Miserables (the 25th anniversary concert from England).

It is a double disc, but looks like it comes in a regular slim line case that
you would flip the tray to get to disc 2 (ala Sun Set - see I can bring Klaatu
Kontent in on some esoteric level!) but not this, no. It literally has the two
CD's SITTING ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. Literally the two discs rest on the spindle.

To add insult to injury, it is the kind of plastic case (not sure what it is
called, or if it is technially a jewel case) that looks like a short version
you see on some cheap DVD's or Some music DVD's where you also have to press a
button to release the lid.

Who is this for? Seriously, what was the sales pitch?

"Hey guys, while we are on the fence with this whole digital disc thing, what
else can we do to piss the customer off, especially audio nuts that try to keep
their product as pristine is possible and not give them a chance in hell all
the while nailing them to a wall because once it is open we can always said
'you may have burned it, tough luck, it's your?'

Okay, a little over dramatic, but I do already have RED Distributions phone
number in NYC and am going to call tommorow. I would have returned it, but it
was kind of a gift, especially after it was one of those PBS 'thank you gifts'
after it was on last month.

As far as I am concerned, I have two other recordings and am not happy a Jonas
Brother is in this cast and after seeing the way this packaged, free burns for
all that ask (just cover postage and envelope, discs are on me, I will write
out the songs and yuo make your own lable).

Thanks for letting me vent, but is this the norm now? I mean really? I get a
surface scuff and I freak and I know that I am going to flip on this set. (and
for the record, I was really not expecting to adopt this disc as a gift,
seriously, a Jonas Brother? What next? Hanson doing Jersey Boys?).
