Dear Anja and Yoshi! Thank you so much for putting together the draft minutes and publishing it on FB/Whatsapp.

Probably now I should send it by email - let me do it tomorrow morning together with a Merry Christmas message!

Speak to you next week during our WG meeting on 29th (Tuesday)! I will send the WG meeting agenda out early on Monday. I thought about inviting people who signed up to help us with communications/website/registration and fundraising but I am afraid the Christmas time might not be best. I would suggest doing it after our meeting next week so they can join us in the first meeting in January. Let me know if you think otherwise!

Have a lovely Christmas time ahead!

Tomek

Dear Anja:

You are absolutely amazingly too sweet.
I thank you so so much.
I wish you were right here, then I'd give you a big hug and a bunch of flowers and chocolate.

I will put this on WhatsApp and Facebook page.

All the best,

Yoshi

Hi all,

as Yoshi is very busy these days, I put together a draft of the meeting minutes. I tried to keep it as short as possible, but I hope I didn't leave out important points. Maybe we could send it out as a whole through email and post it divided in agenda items on facebook and whatsapp.
Enjoy your Sunday!

1st Pre-general assembly of Kanthari Alumni
17th December 2015

Minute taker: Tijana, Jessi and Yoshi
Moderator: Graham
Convener: Tomek

In total, there were 28 participants of the pre-general assembly:
Nagendra, ojok, anja, Tijana, jessica, khom, graham, mijata, Samuel, Emanuel, abijid, Sar, Christy, Karter, Markus, Yoshimi, David, Tomek, Graham, Mieta, Emanuel, Joanne, written feedback from Nicholas is also included in the minutes.

1. Report on Activities
Participants suggest to create a time line and task descriptions fow work which needs to be done in order to establish the network. They request the sharing of the constitution for reference.

2. The name
There was the following feedback:
Kanthari Global Network: 4 votes
Kanthari Alumni Network: 7 votes
Kanthari Changemakers Network: 4 votes

Additional suggestions:
- Kanthari community connect
- Kanthari Community Network
- Kanthari Kommunity

Supporters of the name Kanthari Alumni Network state that it makes it very clear who we are and were we come from.
Who chose other options thinks that alumni sounded quite academic and limited access of other changemakers to the network who are not Kanthari graduates.

We discussed advantages and disadvantages of registration in both countries. There was the following distribution of votes:
Germany: 4 votes
Poland: 2
1 indifferent

The following points were raised:
- Registration in Poland seems to be easier.
- In Germany, there is already BWB,, so we should focus on a different country.
- In Poland, there are more graduates, including Tomek who can catalize the process.
- Funding opportunities and transportation to Germany are an advantage.
- We need to discuss how to raise funds for registration.
- Suggestion to look into other countries such as India and Nepal.

4. Means of communication (email, whatsapp, facebook, skype, other?)
All participants agreed that skype is the only solution for verbal communication at the moment, though access is complicated in many places.
- Suggestion for graduates in a region come together and share a skype account.
- For written communication, there are several suggestions: whatsapp, google groups, google hangout.
- Whatsapp is very accessible, but difficult to keep track of discussions and retreave information.
- Email communication is essential.
- No final point about google hangouts was made.
- Idea of team leaders in each country who facilitate communication and help to strengthen the network.

Item number five: way forward through the next three months
The following points were made about the next steps:
- An action plan needs to be made with a time line and responsible persons.
- We need focal persons in each country to involve more graduates and find support for the working group.
- Several participants are interested to join the working group.
- Help was offered with the website development.
