Francis, I'm puzzled why so many people are offering so many ways to save and exit a header. So far as I know, just pressing alt c for Close is the proper equivalent of clicking on the close icon with a mouse, and that saves what you've created or edited as you exit. Isn't this so? And what's the purpose of the toolbar you mention? Is it only something for clicking on controls that do the same thing you'd do if you simply used ordinary keyboard formatting commands? Hope you see what I'm asking, here. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Francis Daniels" <fdaniels@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, September 03, 2005 7:21 PM Subject: Re: want help with headers in Word 2000 By the way, you can exit the header edit box by changing the view to normal. When you edit the header, Word changes the view to Page Layout view. You can easily exit by pressing Alt V and then press Enter. You don't need to locate the toolbar and do all sorts of keystrokes.
