Something also worth considering,
Windows itself, is not free from flaws, and since a screen reader such as
Jaws, is designed to work based on imformation from the o/s, it's never
going to be flawless.
With this in mind, people experiecing problems, should try to gain as much
of an understanding of their computer, to help them decide whether it is a
Jaws, or Windows, or hardware, or software problem.
Not always an easy task for even the most experienced users.

hi. As a former beta tester, I can say that the beta testing time on
aversion of JAWS was around a month, possibly 2 or 3 if there were
problems with the code base, and problems people were having. I
think that it really all depended on the features they wanted to
implement and wether it was working well for most people.
So you had a lot of factors there. and you couldn't be more right
when you talk about so many different configurations and setups.
I give the programmers a lot of credit, they have to worry about
features being implemented, making sure that it works internally
first, and then releasing it to beta testers who further test it
before it finally reaches everybody else.
So there's a lot to think about there. Making sure your computer is
set up properly to work with the FS software will go a long long way
to fixing half the problems people have. If they still have
problems, then it's probably more of a windows issue, because like
any other thing on your system, JAWS is just that, a program that
runs on top of the operating system rather than being something built
right into it.
