I have experienced the same slow response when running Jaws on 3mhz
machines, although not all the time. Try as I might to run down the problem,
I have not managed to do so other than to confirm that, with Jaws closed,
speed returns to normal.

running service pack one, a 1.66 AMD processor, 512 of RAM, and Jaws 5.1.

up programs like outlook express and internet explorer, and even sometimes
when working inside a program like outlook express. When reading a message,
it will start fine, but in the middle of the message, it will pause a few
seconds before going to the next line. It will also do this when deleteing
a message. Now during this pause, whether in a program or not, it is like
the system is temporarily froze.
