Dave, nice find about reading the web page with the "say all" command of insert down arrow, if that is what you have referred to. You can change how Jaws does a "say all" in the jaws options insert key plus letter V as in victor. Then press the letter S as in sam until you hear "say all options". then down arrow once and within the scheme item, use the space bar to go through the choices. while on a choice, you can tab once for help. once you have made the change you want, simply close the jaws options with alt key plus F4 or escape. Your choices on reading a web page or HTML text, is do the say all with the word links read each time the say all encounters a link, choice two is only text which does the say all with no reference or denotation of a link and as you noted, choice three is for a sound to be made each time a link is crossed. again, thanks for noting this new option. This feature of giving a "ding" instead of the word link or even silence is discussed in the new features for JAWS 12 and for the life of me I can't figure out now where in heck the settings are. You say I can read a web page with alt plus number 3? Is that number 3 on the numbers row or on the numeric pad? I use a laptop but can make the correct translation on that computer. But I do have another laptop with a keyboard attached. So please, help me understand. Makes reading a web site a lot faster and less annoying. I've used up all my SMA thanks to freedom science fiction and their useless upgrades, so I will be one of those who is probably not going to pay to renew a pair of eyes. Waste of time, which they could just put in a mini update for jaws 1. Oh well I'm not an fs programmer or whatever, so I'll just shut up. Also, the virtual ribbons are a great feature, however, not a deciding factor.
