Hi Smart,

You should be able to reset the Skype hot keys as follows:

I pulled down the Tools Menu & cursored up to Options & pressed Enter. Then, I pressed Shift Tab & started arrowing right until I got to the Hot Keys Tab, where I Tabbed once and pressed the SpaceBar on the Enable Global Hot Keys button; then, I cursored down the list of available Hot Keys for Skype & pressed the SpaceBar on the Enable Hot Key button for each one. Then, I Tabbed to the Change Hot Key button for each one and pressed the SpaceBar on it, after which I Tabbed around and checked both the alt key and the Win key for each one and put the correct letter in the Edit Box for each one. Finally, I had to Route JAWS to PC for each one, then PageDown to find the OK button to Left Click on it.

I set them as follows:

Global Hot Keys for Skype:

Answer: alt Windows A

Ignore: alt Windows I

Reject or Hang Up: alt Windows h

Focus: alt Windows f

Mute microphone: alt Windows m

Search for Skype Users: alt Windows s

   Hope this helps,

   Don

Yes, I also upgraded to version 4.2. But guess what?
The key combinations alt+window up for receiving a call, and alt+window down for ending a call, don't work any more. I have to go to the menu options to
make these selections during a call.

So I'm thinking of reverting to version 4.1, which is perhaps more
accessible.

Regards, smart.

Hey Alan,
Think about this. Some of us were forced to update to Skype 4.2, even
though we told Skype not to update!
Also, what if Skype blocked connections with 3.8. They haven't done it
yet, but that's not to say they ever will.

Hello Mark,
I am using Skype 3.8 and have been so for more than a year, and it
does everything I expect a PC communications program to do, and very
well. When I am speaking to some one, for example in South Africa, it
sounds like they are sitting next to me! Then why should I change to
another version? I shall not!

I am using XP-Home and JAWS 9.0XX

And well, it works fine!

Hello All,

I finally took the plunge and started using Skype. A friend of mine
in the UK suggested that I use Version 3.8 as they felt it was easily
accessible with JAWS. Is this the consensus out there or can I
upgrade to the latest version? Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mark
