I'm not sure what you mean by your reference to a political debate. But as
I mentioned, I also wrote to FS tech support with a cc to Bryan and Eric,
and received from Bryan approximately the same reply as you quote below.
However, I wrote back and asked if there was a possibility that the fix
might be included in any Jaws 9 updates that FS issued between now and the
release of the next version. To which Bryan replied that there will be no
more updates for version 9, so it won't be until Jaws 10 that the function
will work properly again.

I think if enough people write FS regarding this issue, they possibly could
have a fix in place before version 10. Writing this list and turning it into
a political debate will accomplish nothing. Plus James would probably
appreciate this.

For what it's worth, I copied the ticket number into the subject line of an
email and addressed a note to FS saying that I shared your interest in
seeing this broken and once very useful feature restored to functionality.
And I cc'd Brian Carver and Eric Damery, as well.
Let's hope for the best. It's a wonder that this hasn't been fixed over the
long time since it broke somewhere just before Jaws 9 was introduced, if I
recall correctly. Maybe something will finally be done about it? Let's hope.
