I'm afraid Gerald is absolutely correct.  I know because I tried it myself. 
Using IE8, forget it.  The prompts will not play.  Using Firefox, on the 
other hand, not a problem.

Hi David,

Thanks for doing such a great job on your IE 8 guide.  However, you state
that you need Real Player 11 installed in order to play embedded audio.  One
of the reasons I uninstalled IE 8 and reverted to IE 7 was that IE 8 would
not, in fact play embedded audio, a problem I reported to MS last September
when I was beta testing it.  The problem has not apparently been resolved,
as far as I know.  If you want to verify this for yourself, visit the web
page below using IE 8.  The embedded Real Player audio menu prompts should
start playing automatically if IE 8 is working properly.  If all you hear is
silence (except for JAWS), then the problem is still outstanding.
