Yes that is what I would have to do, just the same as with my portable CD player. Since I can't see the indicator that is the only choice I have, but it is not all that bad because I rarely ever am looking for one song in particular I just enjoy the music as it plays.

Hi,
Are you saying if you have 40 songs in sequence on the I River that you have
to rotate through 31 of them until you find the right song?
I ask this as I have a CD player where I can key in a number via remote
control
without having to move forward song by song.
Great review; simply asking.

Yes I am totally Blind!
I know the songs I have loaded and can fast forward or skip to another
track until I find a song I like.
I ride the airplane and just let the songs play and enjoy the music!
I skip tracks until I find a radio program I want and listen.
This player will record from FM radio or it will record from my voice
through a built in Microphone.
I would be the first to admit that the device is not Blind Friendly, but
as I said it is able to play the songs and radio programs I have recorded.
I am able to review the list of songs and radio programs with the unit
plugged in to a USB port on my computer and add or remove anything I wish
with no special software, so I feel very comfortable with the unit!
I had someone tell me the different keys and their functions and tell me
how they accessed the player and wrote this down in a Word Document which
I can review to bring me up to speed at any Time!
I can down load the audio books and put them on the MP3 player after all I
have 20 Gig a Byte of memory for anything I want to play!
I belonged to a service of the Scottsdale Library witch provided recorded
books and allowed me to load them to my MP3 player and listen to the
books, it worked fine.
I used JAWS and the Windows Explorer to load and remove songs and it
worked like any other drive making it easy to put up what ever I want, so
this made it easy to use!

Hi Good news about your access to the Iriver MP3 player.
I have a Iriver H-10b 20 GB MP3 player and I am able to put songs on the
player and delete any of the files I want on the player.
I did not have to install any software to do all of this I just had to
have Microsoft Media player version 10 or above loaded to make it work.
The unit allows me to go to my computer and hook up to the computer and
see it as Iriver another drive making up loading and down loading songs
from my personal selection easy, Wow!
I can go to the FM Radio, but it is a process of memorizing the
functions.
I am especially good at playing Music and Radio programs recorded from
the Internet such as shows from Imagination Theater, which I have 40 1/2
hour programs loaded on the Iriver H-10C player, along with the 300
songs.
I have bought the remote device and this is pretty straight forward in
its use, all buttons for easy use.
I have not worked up to the recording function so can't say anything
about those function.
I have 300 Songs and 30 hours of radio programs loaded on the Iriver
player and am enjoying it very much!
I hope to get better at using the other MP3 player functions, but so far
I am very happy with my use of it!
I hope your access is as good as mine!
Dick

Do you mean you record by speaking into it, using it as a dictation
recorder? Or when you say "record," do you actually mean connecting it
with
a music source and recording music on it?
thanks.

Hi Dick,
You are able to do this, you have to memorize the button presses, but
it's
not hard at all. I haven't done the radio thing yet, I am however, able
to
record on my own.

Hello
are you able to perform the Recording with your MP3 player?
Can you select the FM station and set it up as a pre set so you can
select
the station when you go to the radio?
Thanks Dick
