Ted,

All that flood of email was due to a particularly arousing thread whose
subject shall remain unmentioned here. Good luck getting through all your
backlogged messages.

Tell you the truth, I posted the answer before I saw the other response.
I was off yesterday, and out half the previous day for training. Wow,
did I have mail!

Thanks, Ted, but it's not a problem. Another lister reminded me that I
went
into Keyboard Manager some months ago to assign that keystroke to the
Schemes list for another purpose I had in mind, so no wonder I didn't
see
the synth list. It's okay. Because I have only one synth and never have
thought about wanting to turn it off.

thanks again.

The first brings up the change synth menu. One of the choices is No
Speech. The second is that long list of parameters that can be set on
the fly for whatever app you're in. I think the synthesizer option is
at or near the bottom. Of course, you can use the advanced properties
menu to make permanent changes in a particular app, but that's hardly a
shortcut.

If I were going to do it, I think the scripting tip mentioned earlier
would be the way to go.

Ted,

What is this? I just looked at it and would really like to know what it
does
and how it works. In the Jawes Help, which book and topic is it
discussed
in?

thanks.If you want,

The closest things to keyboard commands I know would be Ctrl-Jaws-S or
Jaws-V.
