I just want to chime in and say it took me a while to realize that you didn't know that the email program is something that's its own world. The files and folders in it are not like anything else on your computer. The messages and folders may *look* familiar to you, but that's the point of the design of Outlook, to make it seem comfortably similar to how things work outside of it, in your general computer (by which I mean your hard drive and its folders and files, as seen under Windows Explorer. But in reality, its email messages, address book and everything else are in forms and codes that can't exist except as mysterious-looking file names outside of the program when it's open. So your email program can't be turned into something other than an email program, no matter how many extra features Outlook may have, right down to being able to start the coffee brewing and then alert you to your next committee meeting. But don't feel too bad. It's not such a hassle. For instance, I have a friend named Aaron. Now, I have stuff like a file with his mailing address and phone number, other files containing Word documents of business letters and resumes I helped him write (he's from another country and needed help with the English) as well as other things. To hold all those things, weather they're plain text Notepad files, or Word files, or whatever, I have a real folder named Aaron on my hard drive. Which is to say c:\Aaron. Then, if I want to review our recent email correspondence, I just cycle into Outlook Express, in my case, where it's usually my Inbox that's what's open on the screen, tab into the folder list, go to the one called Aaron, and then tab into the message list. Takes longer to type that than to do it. It's simply not a hassle, nor an organizational problem. It's just the way these things are done. Good luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mayavan Gopalakrishnan" <gopalakrishnan_vip@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, October 28, 2006 9:24 AM Subject: Re: Folder options Hi, You can save only E-mail messages in that folder. Other messages/files/folder can be saved in in Microsoft Word and other applications.
