Fortunately, I am able to do most of my documents from scratch. Will definitely check the zoom settings.I have heard that 100% is the best zoom setting, but I'll try 75 percent to see if it makes a difference.
I always am sure the screen is maximized, so I don't think that's the problem.

I have seen this when the zoom is set to high. I believe its because jaws has to wait while the screen is redrawn. I think 75% is the suggested zoom. Also making sure your screen is maximized seems to help. Are these templates you are working with or do you do your documents from scratch. Some of the templates I am given to work with cause this type of behaviour. Some I have never figured out.Tom Bissett BMO Financial Group Technology and Operations Integrated Client Solutions Tel: (416) 549-6514 E-Mail tom.bissett@xxxxxxx -----Original Message-----From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of tom behlerSent: February 2, 2010 10:25 AM To: jaws users e-mail list Subject: Delayed speech response when typing Hi, all.I have a Windows XP machine here with Jaws 10, and I am increasingly noticing a problem. I currently have Jaws set to speak every letter I type, as a quality control sort of thing when preparing documents in Microsoft Word.Recently, I have noticed that when I type, there is a one half second, to maybe even a one-second delay between my key stroke, and the spoken character. Can someone tell me why this happens, and what I might do to correct the situation?I'd say I have noticed it within the past month or so, and the problem is getting worse. Thanks!
