Well, we do scandisk and defrag fairly often, but perhaps not often enough.
No new programs have been installed on the computer by either my wife or me,
to the best of my knowledge.

I'm curious as to how often maintenance--scandisk, defrag and so on--is
run? Also, have you installed any new programs recently which might have
caused this?

Hi, all.
I have a Windows XP machine here with Jaws 10, and I am increasingly
noticing a problem. I currently have Jaws set to speak every letter I
type,
as a quality control sort of thing when preparing documents in Microsoft
Word.
Recently, I have noticed that when I type, there is a one half second, to
maybe even a one-second delay between my key stroke, and the spoken
character.
Can someone tell me why this happens, and what I might do to correct the
situation?
I'd say I have noticed it within the past month or so, and the problem is
getting worse.
