Norman,

Yes, I've seen this happen a number of times on my computer. I had put it down to a sticking Control key but you may be right that there is some connection with Jaws itself. Certainly pressing the Control key once or more does generally appear to sort things but it leaves you not sure if it is a hardware or software problem.

Sorry I can't be more specific but at least you know that you are not the only one out there that this is affecting.

Incidentally my laptop is a Toshiba and I am using Jaws 6.1 with Windows XP Home - just in case this has some bearing on the situation.

Cheers,

Jamie

Can anyone add to or comment on this problem: every so often with JAWS 6.1
in IE, the keyboard seems to go into a shifted state in which every key
pressed is spoken as "control" + the key. Pressing control by itself cures
the problem, but only temporarily. Sometimes the confusion is eventually
cleared up and the problem goes away; sometimes I have to reboot.

I don't think I had the problem with JAWS 6.0.

Cheers,

Norman
