Hi Barbara yes it happens like that just when you are getting desperate it all speeds up but do not forget to ask your Isp to run a test on the line during the "Sludge period, I would still like to know how to check if your computer is working flat out maybe someone knows this. If my computer is running too many programes Jaws pipes up "Dorothy is running too many programes and at times tells me how many. My Pc is zipping along today, tomorrow we will get Updates remember Dorothy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barbara Wilson" <barkingbabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi Adrian

I have Skype and MSN shut down. Surprisingly enough, tonight the Internet has been really fast. So perhaps BT in this area have had a temporary problem they've now overcome. Fingers crossed.

 Hi Barbara,

I know this could be a stupid question, but do you have many programmes opened at the time?

I had a simular problem a few months ago when reading Emails.

I eventually found out, if my Skype was turned on, it would slow down JAWS in reading my Emails. If you have Skype, it might be worth your while in turning it off, and see if this works.

   Hi All

Well my Internet problems aren't much better and I was hoping someone could answer a question for me. My Internet is very slow and pages take a long time to load no matter the time of day. When I type in an address and press Enter, I hear JAWS reading out the percentage loaded and it climbs up very slowly. Many times it just freezes or I close it down as it's taking too long. Sometimes if I use the JAWS cursor it will read "Opening page" And then the address. And others it says "Page found, waiting for reply". Does it sound like I have a setting not set correctly? When I restart the computer the Internet works very quickly for about 20 minutes and then back to slow again until I restart the computer. This is extremely time consuming and not a realistic way to work.

   Any suggestions or ideas?

   Barbara
