Dear Dorothy Re chips Chips, when referred to in the context of computing, are like very small electrical circuits which can do many things, such as make decisions or store data. The CPU of a computer is made up of many microchips and thus the overall effect is a very powerful processor. I've never heard of a blue chip in this context. The only context I've heard of it is in relation to the stock market where a blue chip is A stock that sells at a high price because of public confidence in its long record of steady earnings. You may be getting confused with blue tooth which is a way of transmitting wirelessly at short distances to say, a keyboard or an external device. Nano chips are simply very, very small microchips. They can pack more information and circuitry into a smaller space and are much, much faster than their bigger and older cousins, the microchip. All of these chips are hardware or, put another way, the nuts and bolts of the computer. Jaws is software and doesn't have any chips per sae but the chips on your computer will process the commands sent by you to Jaws and vice versa. The smaller and faster the chips, then the faster and more reliable Jaws will be. It's down to the model of your computer at the end of the day. Hope that some or all of this makes sense. Kind regards ... If Jaws needs one it must be related. I am confused about them though.. 1. the Microchip I assume it in the computer itself. Is that the CPU? 2. I have heard of a blue chip is that what a laptop has? 3. I have heard of Nano Chips I think Nano means small but is it a chip that would help Jaws?Or could it be used in many may ways . I mean like the eye the brain. I hear the word a lot and wonder if it is our future in many ways including I.T. Grateful for a few words of enlightenment.
