Your style of prose is a little hard to follow Marvin, but I don't
really see why Jaws should make accessing the Internet any harder
especially if JAWS is no longer running or installed.

I cannot make out whether they (your parents) are using dial up or some
kind of broadband from your message. Although I am sure you could dial
up using VISTA I really think if possible they should have a broadband
connection it more or less mandatory these days if you want to use the
Internet. Using email with pop3 you might get away with dial up.

I reckon your parents are sighted, therefore this list is probably not
apropriate for yours or their needs, this being the JAWS UK list we are
a rather specialist corner here. If they are having problems then try
to break them down into simple tasks. If they are having problems
connecting to internet try and document actually what is occurring step
by step, "it's not working" or "things pop up" isn't much help to anyone
attempting to resolve the problem who needs more detail. Then
preferrably try and seek local help if you can because it will generally
be quicker if someone experienced is looking at the PC on site or at
least over the telephone. The connection problems may be to do with the
ISP as well if you can identify that it is a connection problem then it
may be worth giving the ISP a call.
