It's an internal server accessed only by IP address. -----Original Message----- From: isapros-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isapros-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Thomas W Shinder Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 5:59 PM To: isapros@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isapros] Re: Unix LOB Caching Hi Amy, Actually, Jim and Tim and I had a discussion on this during Black Hat. The definition of "local address" is only for single label names -- it's always been that way and that's how it's designed to work. Is this server an internal machine? If so, make sure that you put ONLY IP addresses or FQDNs (don't mix them) into the Direct Access list. There is another approach, but I consider it "messy" (or no, now it sounds like I'm using 'kick the perms' terminology) :)) For more details on this, check out Stefaan Pouseele's article at http://blogs.isaserver.org/pouseele/2006/07/21/solving-the-directly-acce ss-these-servers-or-domains-issue-in-isa-server-2004-sp2/ HTH, Tom Thomas W Shinder, M.D. Site: www.isaserver.org Blog: http://blogs.isaserver.org/shinder/ Book: http://tinyurl.com/3xqb7 MVP -- Microsoft Firewalls (ISA) > -----Original Message----- > From: isapros-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:isapros-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Amy Babinchak > Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 4:11 PM > To: isapros@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [isapros] Unix LOB Caching > > I have a client with a LOB app that I need to exempt from caching. > Internet Explorer apparently ignores IP address when > determining whether > the server is on the local network or not.
