        Hi Tom,

I have set up a lot of monitors using the DVI connection. The
only problem I have encountered is where the video card is set so the
vga connector is the default connection. Under those circumstances the
monitor won't function at all and I have to hook up a VGA monitor for a
minute and configure the card so the DVI connection is the default.
After that it works fine. If you are having color problems with a brand
new monitor I would try another cable and see if that fixes it. If not I
would hook up the monitor using a standard VGA cable. If it's still bad
try VGA on another computer. My guess is if another cable doesn't fix it
that you have a flakey monitor.

        Pete

        Hey folks,

Anyone have much experience with Monitors with DVI connections?
I put my first one together the other day, and it was a nightmare
getting the colors right. Didn't know if I got a whack monitor, or if
its something about DVI. I'm going to try it again tomorrow and wondered
if my last experience was a one-off, or if DVI connections need more
babysitting.

        TNX,
        Tom
