The problem is that caching mode only allows simple protocols. For Messenger you need to have installed the Firewall Client, which works only in integrated mode, or use snat which have the same issue. I think the best way to use all the ISA resources is to install it in Integrated mode, even if we have another firewall in front of ISA, and it will give you more control to design a DMZ. -----Original Message----- From: Peter [mailto:pleeuwen@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 6:51 AM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] MSN Messenger through ISA Caching Only http://www.ISAserver.org How can I allow the MSN Messenger to connect through our ISA Caching Only Server. Ideally we would like to allow certain machines, depending on Group membership to use MSN Messenger through the ISA server. Defining the proxy on port 80 in the MSN Mesenger does not seem to be enough and I cannot create a specific protocol definition on port 1863 in Caching Only mode. I do not want to setup the ISA server as an integrated server since we rely on our Cisco PIX for firewall functionality and we want to keep it that way....for now ;-)) TIA, Peter ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: armando.trevino@xxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
