Hey guys, I'm using Windows 2000 SP2 machines. I think I might have fixed the problem by configuring DNS Zone Transfer Server Publishing Rules for the published DNS server. Now, I have no idea at this time why this would make a difference (haven't thought about it that deeply yet), but no problems since making the change. Of course, make sure you have configured your DNS servers so that they don't allow zone transfers to just anyone! At least with NT 4 from SP4 up DNS takes up to 15 seconds to resolve anything.
