Hi Joseph, They didn't put the names on the questions, although there were a couple of "interesting" ones :-) Regarding SBS -- I think that's a pretty big market that gets way too overlooked. Esp. now that it seems like Microsoft wants to play more and more in the Sun and IBM markets. Good ideas regarding including a security crib sheet for Small Business. They're LANs need securing as much as anyone elses, and its often done by the local "Power User" who knows how to make Word macros or change the screen resolution :-) However, you can teach those power users quite a bit if you give them the right info. Thanks! I think that SBS is one over looked animal when it comes to setup and maintenance. It is not zero free for the admin of that machine. Small business should not be over looked. They need a plan for proactive and reactive response to their security and your book may just fit the bill. By the way I thought my question was a funny one! The time went by so quickly and I really wanted to say more, and more slowly, the topics indicated in the slides. The hour felt like about 10 minutes. They sent me a list of the unanswered questions and I answered them last night, so they should be getting them up on the Web site sometime next week. I'm frying up an outline for the book this weekend and I'll post it to the Web site when I'm done for your review, comment and enjoyment :-) Thanks! I hope that you were able to answer all the extra questions that were not answered online. One question is there any preview chapters of your book for ISA and SBS available? Thank you, Joseph -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W. I just haven't given it enough thought, and haven't run it long enough, to figure out if its actually making a difference yet. So far, so good, though. Ask me again on Monday :-) Tom -----Original Message----- From: John Tolmachoff [mailto:jtolmachoff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, March 15, 2002 1:35 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: DNS and Slow access Issues with Secure NAT clients http://www.ISAserver.org Could this issue be something caused by SP1? I haven't nailed down the cause yet, but you describe the exact situation I've had relatively frequently the last few days. Restarting the firewall service always fixes it, but it often resolves itself. Their default gateway points to the firewall. Every once in a while, I can no longer do nslookup's to my ISP's DNS servers from my internal DNS server. The client web access speed goes way down and pages start timing out. I am able to do nslookup's from the firewall and am able to reach the internet through the firewall. I also can plug in the firewall address as the proxy server and internet access is a lot faster. Has anyone else come accross this?
